A few days before the weekend I started to feel ill. I had congestion and a severe sore throat. I was convinced that I had Strep. Since I wasn’t able to see my regular doctors until Tuesday, I went to a local Wellness Clinic. They took a swap of my throat to check for Strep, and just to be safe, also took a swap from my nose to check for COVID. I was shocked when the Strep was negative, but the COVID was positive. Apparently, since I was fully vaccinated, I had a very mild case which caused the congestion and sore throat. I was told that current CDC guidelines only require 5 days of quarantine from the date of the onset of symptoms. I was prescribed Cepacol” sore throat lozenges. The lozenges worked a treat and my congestion and sore throat have steadily improved. I could not be more pleased.
